One Stitch, One Step, One Action At a Time

I enjoy crocheting with plarn (plastic yarn made from plastic bags) and often as I am crocheting I am struck by how the finished product relies on every single stitch to make a quality whole. And how each stitch is vitally necessary for the entire finished product - both the part that came before and the part that comes after. Small steps, small stitches, small actions, are not less important because of their small size.

The first step is the most important step. Without the first step there is nothing. That first step is the one from which the rest of the journey follows. One step taken creates momentum, with each step taken after building upon that momentum. And, even if only one step gets taken, or one small stitch gets added each day, that action is a necessary part of the finished whole. And suddenly, surprisingly, those small actions add up to a big accomplishment.

But it always begins small!
