A Windy Spring Friday

"Live in each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of the earth. ~ Henry David Thoreau

I try to live like this every season but for me Spring is truly the easiest season to live this way. I feel like I wake up and discover fresh joy in life every spring.

Someone is living the good life here, relaxing with her feet up, and being pushed all over the yard so she never gets bored.

There was lots and lots of sliding today, with some good practice in waiting in line and taking turns.

At the back of the yard is an area where a block building once stood. Now there are just some cinder blocks in places showing where the walls were, and big piles of dirt with grass growing over them. It's a great place to drag all the yard toys and set up "house."

Our feathered friends continue to spend lots of time outside and they have plenty of little people to watch over them and make sure they stay safe. It was very entertaining to watch them chase each other and fight over the worm.

There was a lot of wind last night and this morning. It blew over one of our teepee frames and broke the stick so we will have to work on that some more next week.

The only planned indoor activity we did today was workbooks. I'm trying to stay consistent with that even though we can hardly wait to get outside.

And now I'm planning to have a nice quiet Friday evening with my War and Peace audiobook, Mahjong on my phone, and bowl (or two) of chips and dip.
