Reading and Learning
Seen from the outside, housework can look like a Sisyphean task that gives you no sense of reward or completion. Yet housekeeping offers more opportunities for savoring achievement than almost any other work I can think of. Each of it's regular routines brings satisfaction when completed. These routines echo the rhythm of life, and the housekeeping rhythm is the rhythm of the body. You get satisfaction not only from the sense of order, cleanliness, freshness, peace and plenty restored, but from the knowledge that you yourself and those you care about are going to enjoy the benefits.

It was nice to have all three preschoolers here today. This is the only day this week they will all be here so we made the most of it.
Outdoor Fun
The little kids made Micheal "lunch." He seemed to think it was pretty good! And the baby got a wagon ride. He seemed to think that was pretty good too.

This quote is so true! However, since we now have a brand new washer, that not only spins the water out of the laundry, it spins it quietly, it's so much more fun to do. Thank you, Amanda, for offering to go half with me to buy it. Now, to get to the bottom of all the laundry that piled up while we waited for it get here. It was scheduled to be delivered Monday. However, the drivers called me Sunday and said they were 25 minutes away. But that was a problem because I wasn't home. So they said that was fine, they would bring it Monday. Monday afternoon I received an email saying it had been delivered. It had not. So, thinking it was probably an automatically generated email when it was loaded on the truck I waited awhile for it to show up. When a few hours had gone by and it still wasn't here I called the store. The manager agreed with me but said he would check into it. A few minutes later he called back and said no, the washer was still in the warehouse. And it was too late in the day to deliver so it would be rescheduled for Wednesday. Thankfully it did come today and I love it. But I haven't had a chance to use it yet because Amanda also needed to do laundry and she has to work the next four days. But my turn is coming and I don't think I have ever been so happy to do laundry.
