Friday - He Has a Plan

Inspiration

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Reading and Learning

Your value, your gifts, and your strengths have all been placed within you by God Himself. Honestly, it doesn't matter what anyone has spoken over you, or what your past failures, hurts, shame, condemnation or experiences have shouted at you. What God speaks over you is the final word.

The final word. (Just in case you missed that the first time.)

Any thought in you that doesn't inspire hope is under the influence of a lie.

And when we dwell on those thoughts that God isn't speaking or thinking, it creates a downward spiral that feels as difficult to get out of as if we are scaling Mount Everest.

Outdoor Fun

We picked peas today. We didn't get very many but there's enough for a couple meals. 

I took this picture this evening while we were walking the dogs. It seems like a long time since we went for an evening walk. We've either been busy, or it's been hot or rainy. The dogs were so happy to get out.

In the Kitchen

Fried cornmeal mush, boiled eggs, and bananas for breakfast; baked chicken and pasta salad for lunch (the kids also had fruit and milk.) Michael made a smiley face in the watermelon we had with dinner, a pan of freshly shelled peas, and cucumbers from the garden in marinade. 

On My Mind

It is so silly of me to think that I know better than God, and to continue listening to that which I know is a lie. Instead, I must take hold of what God says, and move forward in the plans He has for me. Because He knows why He has me here in this time and this place and He will work things in ways that I could never even dream of. I simply have to do what He calls me to do with what He gives me to it with.

And I know the same is true for you!
