Inspiration
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2

Reading and Learning

. . . the mission for Christians is nothing less than becoming men and women of "another type." We must be men and women who will dare to wrest Christianity free from its fortress mentality, its sanctuary stronghold, and establish it once again as the great life system and cultural force that acknowledges the Creator as sovereign over all. We must be men and women who understand that the task is much more than launching spasmodic crusades to fight one battle or another . . . We must be men and women who see, as Kuyper did, that the struggle is one of first principle." If the battle is to be fought with honor and with a hope of victory, then principle must be arrayed against principle. We must understand opposing views as total life systems and then "take our stand in a life system for equally comprehensive and far-reaching power."
The contours of a Christian life system will become clear in the four sections that follow: creation - God spoke the universe into existence and created humanity in His image; fall - the human condition is marred by sin; redemption - God in His grace provided a way to be reconciled to Himself; and restoration - we are called to bring these principles into every area of life and create a new culture. Equipped with this understanding, we can show not only that the Christian worldview gives the best answers - answers that accord with common sense and the most advanced science - but also that Christians can take up spiritual arms in the great cosmic struggle between conflicting worldviews.

Over the weekend I bought these new manipulatives for the kids to play with. We had a little extra free time this morning so I pulled them out to play with. They were definitely a hit!

We're continuing to work through our workbooks and are currently in the shapes and colors section.

The boys wanted me take pictures of them making the letter M in sign language. Along with a lot of other things, they also traced the letter Ee with their fingers.

Jocelyn chose a puzzle for our activity after nap and snack this afternoon.

Outdoor Fun

I had some wonderful garden helpers this morning - for about 30 seconds. Then the thrill of pulling weeds wore off and they went to play in our mini "jungle" and climb trees and I was left to pull weeds alone. Michael is wearing a glove on one hand because he cut his finger yesterday and he didn't want to hurt it again. Yesterday he was wearing a sock on one foot because he hurt his toe. He cracks me up!

There's nothing like a ball and bat to provide endless entertainment. Michael is a patient pitcher.

I found a spider with an egg sack in the garden this afternoon. Kylin loved watching it and Jocelyn was determined to feed it. Elijah had absolutely no interest in it.

Quote of the Day
While God, for the most part, for the most part allows the cosmos (creation) to work according to the laws of nature, there is never a time when He is not actively involved in every detail of life.
~ Charles R. Swindoll
