Reading and Learning
I believe in a God who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. I believe in a God who is high and exalted. I believe in a God who is able to do immeasurably more than all I can ask or imagine. I believe in a God whose thoughts are higher than my thoughts, whose ways are higher than my ways. I believe in a God whose live I can't possibly comprehend, whose power I can't possibly control, whose mercy I can't possibly deserve. I believe in the God who exists outside of the four dimensions of space-time He created. I believe in the God who can make and break the laws of nature.
God is able.
That is the first and last tenet of my theology - my a priori assumption, my falback position, my default setting.
p. 231
Michael was happy to beat me at this math game today. He also enjoyed learning about the explorations of Captain Cook and the discovery and colonization of Australia.
As we're moving right along through the alphabet today we practiced the letter Qq. Qq is for Quiet. Not the we have much of that around here but it's a nice thought. 😄
In the Kitchen
The kids helped me mix up the batter for a loaf of sweet potato bread. It smelled so good baking and they were disappointed that it wasn't done in time for lunch. It made a wonderful snack though.
Outdoor Fun
The rain kept us from spending much time outside today but I did get a walk with these two this evening. By that point all three of us really needed to get out and get some exercise.
Just For Fun
I made a batch of homemade playdough this afternoon. This is always a favorite activity and keeps imaginations active for a long time.
Quote of the Day
I dwell in possibility.
