INSPIRATION
While I missed being with my church family today (thanks a lot COVID-19) I was blessed to be able to watch the services from both churches online. I'm sharing the videos here so others can be blessed as well.
Reading and Learning
I am currently in the process of reading several books. The one I read the most from today was The Purpose Driven Life: What On Earth Am I Here For by Rick Warren. I had tried to read this book before and at that time had difficulty getting into it. This time around I'm really enjoying it and feel like I'm learning a lot as I read. Below is a quote from the chapter I read this morning.
"The Spirit of God uses the Word of God to make us like the Son of God. To become like Jesus we must fill our lives with His Word. The Bible says "through the Word we are put together and shaped up for the tasks God has for us." 2 Timothy 3:17(MSG) God's Word is unlike any other word. It is alive.
God's Word is the spiritual nourishment you must have to fulfill your purpose. The Bible is called our milk, bread, solid food and sweet dessert.(2 Peter 2:2, Matthew 4:4, 1 Corinthians 3:2, Psalm 119:103) This four-course meal is the Spirit's menu for spiritual strength and growth. Peter advises us, "Crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation." 1 Peter 2:2 (NIV)"
If you continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. ~ John 8:31-32 (KJV)
OUT AND ABOUT
Getting out and about is extremely limited (thanks again COVID-19) but I did go to Biolife for one of my biweekly Plasma Donation appointments. This takes about an hour and a half each time. Although I do get compensated for this, it also feels really good to know that the plasma I is processed into life saving therapies and medications.
My favorite way of getting out and about right now is walking at the schools across the road from me. This evening Amanda, Michael, both dogs, and I walked for about 30 minutes. I took this photo as we were on our way back home.
Years ago I used to keep a daily online journal similar to this and enjoyed it so much. So today I'm beginning again. I'm not promising I'll keep it up but I truly hope to.
