What better way to wake on a cold morning then too a nice warm breakfast of hot chocolate flavored oatmeal. I love this recipe that makes my morning breakfast prep so simple.
5 cups water
1 cup steel-cut oats
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup instant hot cocoa mix
1/2 tsp salt
mini marshmallows, chocolate chips or extra brown sugar for toppings if desired.
Spray crock pot with cooking spray or coat with oil or butter. In separate bowl, or even in right in the crock pot mix the water, oats, brown sugar, hot cocoa mix and salt. Cook on low for two hours, turn on "Keep Warm" just before retiring for the night. In the morning enjoy a delicious bowl of oatmeal topped with desired toppings.
