This song has been such an incredible encouragement in my life. From the first time I heard it I realized there was so much truth in this song and so much to be gained from living life this way. The power of this song begins before the song begins or was even in existence. The power of this song is in the spirit of praise that birthed it. The Bible speaks often of praise and it's power. David, who was considered a man after God's own heart, wrote a whole book of praises to God. And, although David failed in so many ways, it was his spirit of praise, his understanding of the awesomenesss of God, that carried him and lifted him above his circumstances.
Often I believe that my circumstances are redeemable if they are the fault of someone else, but not if they are my own fault. I am learning this is not true. Sin, whether committed by someone else, or by my self, comes from one root. That is Satan. For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. Ephesians 6:12 Good News Translation
I believe human beings in this verse includes all humans beings, even myself. This does not give me an excuse to be careless and not care what I do. It gives me a solid understanding of where to focus and how to fight against that which would seek to bring me down. It acknowledges that God is God and I am not. It proclaims that I believe Him and His Word and so I am building on that solid foundation.
As one created in the image of God I am designed to live in the divine. But when sin entered that design was tampered with. It created a rift that allowed evil to attack. However, with Jesus death and resurrection I was given the power to fight that evil. And the biggest tool I have is simply the awareness and acceptance that the battle has already been fought and won and so I Raise a Hallelujah. I claim the victory and move forward in confidence. I know that the Creator of the universe and every molecule within it has already created and put into place my victory. I know that the One who is the beginning and the end has already walked through time and secured my place in His Kingdom.
