Week in Review - Enjoying the Beautiful Moments

I love these beautiful blossoms on the apple tree in the back yard.  According to my Facebook memories Spring has sprung a little later this year than last year. But now that it is making it's appearance it is beautiful.

The chickens love when the kids feed them fresh green weeds from the yard. And the kids are delighted when a chicken pulls things from their hands. There's just something special about hand feeding another living creature.

The baby enjoys watching our feathered friends and the little chicks get lots of love and attention.

Michael worked more on his teepee this week. He has some interesting things going on here and I'm curious to see what the finished structure will look like.

We've talking and reading about dandelions this week. This led to making and serving a dandelion "cake" in our outdoor kitchen.

Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!

Who needs a jungle gym when we have trees in the back yard?

Baby toes, baby smiles, kitty cats and beautiful blue skies - these are bits of pieces of our days.

 Dump truck rides

We picked dandelion blossoms for dandelion pancakes. We needed thirty blossoms so each preschooler picked ten and then Carson threw in a few of his own.

After the blossom were washed and cut, we measured, poured and mixed our batter.

There were mixed reactions to these pancakes - two kids absolutely loved them and are begging to make them again, two kids were okay with them, and one absolutely did NOT like them. I liked the flavor but need to work on the texture a little. I think I need to add a little more liquid next time.

Michael worked hard on putting this fire pit together. He did it all on his own (except for a little assistance from the little people). He worked on it over two days. The first day he was moving right along and then when he thought he was almost finished discovered he had put on leg on upside down. So he decided to take a break and go mow. The next day, as soon as he had some free time, he picked it back up, fixed his mistake and finished it. We haven't used it yet but are planning to very soon with some of his cousins.

We have worked in our workbooks a little each day.

Much of our playtime was spent outside but we had some fun inside as well.

Good food is such a blessing! From the Ming Garden buffet, to chicken Michael cooked, to breakfast smoothies, to pizza quesadillas - we ate well.
